There are lots of pet portrait artists across the country, but when looking online for a local one I came across Dawn's website - Pet Portraits In Pastel.
She works on velour which gives a lovely soft texture and, my goodness, the likeness to the pet is unbelievable! You can see she has a real love of animals.
Dawn says she has been painting animals all her life, but has been taking commissions since 1992. She has a vast gallery of work to look at on her site featuring horses ,dogs and cats. All of them truly beautiful.
You can even have notecards printed from your portrait which I think is a great idea and an extra special touch.
Dawn lives locally, in the Nottinghamshire / Lincolnshire area.
